The Beatles are on iTunes and Web Managing Editor Rahul Kishore wonders if anyone doesn't already have them on their iPod?

Sophisticated Taste

Justine Fields  —  Feb 16, 2010

Normally this here column is all about music. But lately my ears have been a bit preoccupied with a different type of listening. Namely, podcasts. Yes, those audio files that are just like what’s on the radio (heck most of them are even aired on the radio first!), except since they have a snazzy name, I sound slightly erudite or nerdy, take your pick, when I say that I’m listening to podcasts. Well, these podcasts I speak of have been distracting me from keeping tabs on the music scene as I usually do. Instead, I’ve been busy filling the space between my ears with interesting stories and funny anecdotes and culture news and game shows. I. Just. Can’t. Get. Enough.

Indie Rock That Will Make You Rock

Julia Woodward  —  Oct 23, 2009

I hope that all you indie faithfuls out there were mad excited for St. Vincent yesterday!!! ’Cuz I know I was on Wednesday, as I wrote this — I hope I was not disappointed (woah, this is like talking to a past version of myself). Were you there or were you square?? (And we all know there’s nothing worse than being square. I prefer a trapezoidal form myself). For all ya’ll indie pedestrians, or hopeless indie haters, you shoulda gone to this show because St. Vincent rocks. Quite literally. It’s indie rock.

Music, Music Everywhere

If you’re like me, you’ve had a moment where you’re out at someone’s house, or at a party or in the car, and there’s this one song you just need to put on. If you’re lucky you have your iPod with you, but usually you don’t. Enter online music. It’s come a long way since the days of Napster. Plenty of sites offer music that’s either free or close to it. Some even let you sync your personal collections for music on the go.
