It was a matchup of the defending national champion and a top-10 team, the continuation of a long rivalry at a sold-out Madison Square Garden. But for all the excitement surrounding the second Red Hot Hockey, neither Cornell nor Boston University was able to claim victory.

On the biggest stage in New York City, the men's hockey team battled Boston University to a 3-3 tie after giving up two third-period goals. Sophomore defenseman Sean Whitney scored a goal and tallied an assist; senior defenseman Brendon Nash had two assists.
