Both the men's and women's polo teams missed out on chance to win national titles this weekend.

The men's and women's polo squads handily defeated Skidmore over the weekend and will use the next week to prepare for UVA on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

The women's polo team toppled a squad comprised of former Cornell polo players who graduated in 2004 and 2005.

Both the men's and the women's polo teams are set to take on Yale on Friday at home.

Although neither squad reached the championship, the women dominated Skidmore College, 23-2, and the men defeated Kentucky, 20-12, on Wednesday. 

This past weekend, both the mens and women's polo teams were defeated by UVA.

With a pair of blowout victories under their mallets, the men’s and women’s polo teams have a lot to look forward to this season. They returned to action last weekend for the first time since their appearances in the national championship games last season.

The polo season came to a close on Saturday when both Cornell squads faced the Virginia Cavaliers in their respective national championship games. The women claimed their 13th title, while the men were saddled with the loss, 28-14.
