A New Language Requirement?

In September 1999, then Acting Dean Carolyn "Biddy" Martin formed a Curriculum Commitee (C.C.)to evaluate the College of Arts and Sciences' undergraduate curriculum and requirements for graduation. The findings were issued in May 2000, but only made available to the faculty at the end of October. This is a response to the C.C.'s report

The Curriculum Committee Report released last fall proposes no new or even strengthened requirements except for foreign languages. The Report admits that the "revised requirements will have a significant impact on students who can earn proficiency and up to six credits by passing the CASE exam
