ADMINISTRATION WILL NOT DISCLOSE COMPENSATIONS: President Skorton rejected S.A. Resolution 12, which asked the University to release the executive compensation of its top administrators. Vice President of Human Resources Mary Opperman explained the resolution went beyond the Student Assembly’s power.

NEW BUILDING OUTSIDE COMMONS: Members of the Ithaca Department of Planning and Development held a heated discussion yesterday regarding the creation of a new structure to replace an abandoned building near the Commons, on 140 Seneca Way. Residents of East Seneca Street opposed the project, which would take place directly behind many of their houses.

ALUM HOSTS DISCOVERY CHANNEL SHOW: Dan Riskin Ph.D ’06 is host of the new Discovery Channel show Curiosity: The Questions of Life. The show is family-friendly and aims to encourage scientific inquiry in its viewers.

WEILL MEDICAL PIONEERS ALTERNATIVE CANCER TREATMENT: Through the use of a new drug called pomalidomide, WCMC researchers in New York City are helping cancer patients suffering from the blood cancer multiple myeloma.

SPORTS DESK

MEN'S TENNIS: The men's tennis team was undefeated in their play over the weekend, shutting down Fordham, Monmouth and the New Jersey Institute of Technology. Senior tri-captain Andy Gauthier remains the Ivy League’s top player, as well as holding a spot as the No. 80 collegiate player nationally.

WOMEN'S FENCING: The women's fencing team came out of the Philadelphia Invitational last Sunday with a strong record of 4-2. The competition was hosted at Temple University, who, along with the Duke team, handed the Red their only losses of the day.
