ALUMNI IN THE REAL WORLD

A short film produced by Ryan Silbert ’02, God of Love, has been nominated for the 2011 Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film. Silbert, who graduated from the University after studying communications and business, earned a masters in filmmaking from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. He was co-producer of 2010’s “Holy Rollers,” starring Jesse Eisenberg, who is nominated for this year’s Academy Award for Best Actor.

God of Love was written and directed by Luke Matheny, who attended NYU at the same time as Silbert. According to an e-mail from Silbert to The Sun, “The film is the story of a lovestruck, lounge-singing darts champion who finds his prayers are answered — literally — when he mysteriously receives a box of love-inducing darts."
