BRIDGE BARRIERS UPDATE: The architects that will design the permanent bridge barriers on campus met privately with Cornell and Ithaca officials on Monday, after the release of the pre-schematic barrier designs was delayed due to the closure of Office dA –– the firm originally contracted for the design. Though the original firm was closed, the lead architect will remain on the project, under a new firm that he founded named NADAAA.

DONATION DROP: After a record-breaking fundraising effort last year, private donations to the University fell by more than 31 percent.

Vaclav Klaus '69 penned an opinion piece in Monday's Handelsblatt German newspaper, arguing that the European Union is becoming more and more centralized and restricting economic growth, Bloomberg News reported. He wrote that he sees parallels between the EU's economy and communism.
