The Syracuse Post-Standard reports that Cornell Wrestling’s Redman mascot has set the standard for marketing in a sport that is in desperate need of new branding tactics. As colleges across the nation cut wrestling programs, Cornell sees thousands of fans stream into the Friedman Wrestling Center for home matches, a level of success aided by the antics and viral videos of the team’s mysterious, red-lycra-bodysuit wearing cheerleader.
