Despite senior Ryan Wittman's 24 points and Jeff Foote's three blocks, Seton Hall of the Big East was simply too much for Cornell to handle in Friday's home opener. The Pirates' Jeremy Hazell scored 33 points, 20 in the second half, and led his team to the 89-79 win.

Sophomore guard Chris Wroblewski stuffed the stat sheet with 22 points on 5-of-10 shooting, five rebounds and five assists while helping the Red overcome senior guard Louis Dale's foul trouble. Dale played 19 minutes and fouled out late in the game.

The icers stormed out to a 4-0 lead before two third-period goals by Princeton's Cam Macintyre made it a game. After Macintyre's pair, though, the Red seemed to rediscover its groove and junior Riley Nash scored his first goal of the season to push the lead back to three. Senior Blake Gallagher scored twice in the first period to jump-start the Red, and senior Ben Scrivens made 28 saves.
