David Wittenberg

Sun Associate Editor

David Wittenberg
Staff Since: May 12, 2006

Biography: As The Sun's Associate Editor, David runs The Sun's editorial and opinion pages. Along with the editor in chief and the editorial board, David also produces staff editorials that are the official opinion of The Sun. He is also an active participant in the leadership of the newspaper. Last year, as Senior Editor of The Sun's editorial page, David helped found the editorial board as an organization that represents diverse viewpoints from across the University and The Sun. The board advances The Sun's role as a community watchdog — and its commitment to big-picture, original analysis that contributes to a raucous campus conversation. David and the other editors look forward to continuing that record this year. David is a junior in the College of Arts and Sciences, majoring in history and government, with special interests in political economy and the history of ideas. David joined The Sun's news staff his freshman year, was named Reporter of the Year for 2005-2006, and became a senior writer in the fall of 2006. He was Senior Editor from the spring of 2007 through the spring of 2008, when he was elected associate editor. David loves hearing from readers, continuing the conversation begun in the pages of The Sun and on cornellsun.com.
